Motivation / Cover Letter

A motivation letter, also known as a cover letter, is a written statement explaining why an applicant is interested in a specific opportunity.

In artistic hiring, a motivation or cover letter can help companies understand the person behind the application: their artistic interests, career goals, connection to the project, values, experience and reasons for applying.

Unlike a CV, which lists what someone has done, a motivation letter gives applicants space to explain why the opportunity matters to them and what they hope to contribute.

A strong motivation or cover letter is specific, honest and connected to the opportunity. It should not feel like a generic introduction, but like a thoughtful response to the company, project or artistic context.
