Solo

A solo is a short performance by one individual artist.

In auditions, a solo allows a dancer or performer to present their individual technique, artistic identity, movement quality, musicality, creativity and stage presence.

A solo can be choreographed by the applicant, created by another choreographer, improvised, or based on existing repertoire. It is often one of the clearest ways for artistic teams to see who someone is beyond group work or technical exercises.
